The midfielder, who plays for Marseille, was voted the best player in France by L'Equipe on Wednesday night. He received 28% of the vote from readers and experts, ahead of other top performers such as Paul Pogba (17%), Kylian Mbappe (15%) and Nabil Fekir (14%).
Hernandez, 26, is known for his versatility and ability to play both midfield and central defence. He joined Marseille from Monaco in 2015 and has since become a key player for the club, helping them win the Ligue 1 title in 2019-20.
